ABOUT THE MOAT PROGRAM
Mission Statement
Our mission is to bridge the technology gap by creating a more inclusive and connected community, where seniors can leverage technology to improve specific aging outcomes and live fulfilling, independent lives.
The MOAT program is dedicated to empowering older adults to thrive by:
- Fostering social responsibility
- Providing community-driven technology education and support
We promote accessibility to technological opportunities via the following five measurable outcomes:
1. Financial Security
We strive to make digital financial management accessible to seniors from all walks of life, enabling them to navigate online marketplaces and make informed decisions about their financial resources, ultimately gaining greater ease and confidence over their economic management strategies.

3. Creative Expression
By embracing digital media, older adults can unlock new avenues for self-expression and imagination. Our program introduces innovative techniques and platforms that allow seniors to explore their artistic side, share their ideas and talents with others, and discover fresh ways to bring their creative vision to life.

5. Continuing Education
We recognize the importance of lifelong learning and personal growth, which is why our program helps older adults discover online continuing education opportunities that align with their interests and passions. Whether it’s exploring a new hobby, learning a new language, or delving into a favorite subject, we provide seniors with the skills and confidence to find and engage with online courses, workshops, and resources that enrich their minds and expand their horizons, encouraging them to remain curious, engaged, and fulfilled throughout their lives.

About the Founder

Bonny began her journey with a thesis she wrote while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. To quote:
“If sophisticated companies with dedicated technology teams educated on cybersecurity risks can fall prey to threat actors, how can seniors be expected to protect their financial assets without educational support to meet their needs?”
Having spent considerable time assisting her own aging family members with their technology challenges, she came to understand the scope of need facing aging individuals in today’s digital world.
After volunteering at a local senior’s Assisted Living facility, it became apparent there is an urgent need in communities across Canada to provide seniors with supports for their electronic devices, such as smart TVs and cell phones, while few options for practical assistance are available.
Thus, the MOAT Program was born!
