Bonny began her journey with a thesis she wrote while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity. To quote:

“If sophisticated companies with dedicated technology teams educated on cybersecurity risks can fall prey to threat actors, how can seniors be expected to protect their financial assets without educational support to meet their needs?”

Having spent considerable time assisting her aging family members with their technology challenges, she came to appreciate the challenges facing older adults in today’s digital world.

After volunteering at a local senior’s Assisted Living facility in Parksville, British Columbia, it became apparent there is an urgent need in communities across Vancouver Island to provide seniors increased support for their electronic devices, such as smart TVs and cell phones.

Thus, MOATprogram was born!
